Do you ever buy something and get home and realize that you
already have it? Well that is what I do with nail polish on a regular basis. I
have four bottles of nail polish that are different brands, but the exact same
color. I don’t know why, but when faced with a rack of polish I keep picking
the same shade over and over and don’t even realize it until I get home. That
is what has been happening this week with watermelon.
I have been subconsciously choosing watermelon at every
turn. And even though watermelon by itself is probably the healthiest thing I
have ever featured in a craving post, I’ll make sure not to disappoint. I had
it mixed with gin, frozen with salt and used as inspiration for a cookie.
That’s more like it.
1) Watermelon Cocktails at The Mint.
The Mint has some phenomenal drinks on their bev list, but
when I was there for happy hour this week, I was immediately drawn to the
Watermelon Cooler. It has Hendrick's Gin, fresh watermelon juice, mint, lemon
and soda. I am not a regular gin drinker, but this one went down too smooth.

2) Salted Watermelon Pop from King
of Pops.
Brittany over at btypes hosted
a give-away on her blog early this week, and I totally WON!! I never win
anything so this is huge to me. Even if the prize is only worth $2.50, it is
seriously worth the world to me that I actually won something. We had a blogger
pop date this Thursday and of all of the crazy unique flavors of popsicles he
was serving, I ended up picking the Salted Watermelon. So good.

3) Watermelon Cookies
These are happening in my life this weekend. They don’t have
watermelon in them, they just look like watermelons. They are basic sugar
cookies, cut with a circle cutter and then in half, dyed pink with mini
chocolate chips and green frosting for the rinds. So easy, so cute. I will have
to drink this
watermelon/tequila drink from my thirsty Thursday post yesterday while
I bake them.
I hope you Labor Weekend is filled with watermelon goodness!
***A seriously creepy
thing happened to me as I was getting ready to hit publish on this post…my
coworker came in the office with a HUGE slice of watermelon. If watermelon was
a person, he would be stalking me right now.
21st amendment brewery. Hell or High Watermelon. Delicious watermelon wheat beer. You need to try it.

DeleteThose watermelon cookies are so adorable! I always get watermelon cravings in the summertime... Lemaire had a great watermelon cocktail last I was there, the Southern Drawl, made with watermelon juice, bourbon, ginger liqueur and tarragon... it was quite tasty.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds delicious. Love me some Lemaire!
DeleteThat's too funny! Of course I'd have watermelon waffles on the blog this week :) I love King of Pops, I had a salted chocolate popsicle once that was delish!
ReplyDeleteI must try Salted Chocolate next go around!
