upcoming food & drink events

There are so many food events happening next week that I don’t know what to do with myself. I will be doing some major soul searching in order to choose between some of these events that happen to fall on the same day. No matter what you fancy, wine, beer, cocktails, pizza, street food or fine dining cuisine, there is something for you happening next week in RVA.

Monday, March 12th – Happy Hour pricing
This is a weekly event where Chef Carlos is the bartends at happy hour. He brings in his chef friends to prepare unique appetizers that are served compliments of the house.

Tuesday, March 13th - $65 per person
Some of the best chefs in Richmond are getting together to put on a Street Food inspired wine dinner at Secco. Chefs from some of my favorite restaurants including Pasture, The Empress and of course, Secco will all be creating dishes for the feast.

Richmond Beer Lovers Meetup @ Blow Toad
Tuesday, March 13th – Happy Hour pricing
One of my favorite networking groups is planning an event at the newly opened pizza joint. With $2 beer and cow balls on a pizza, how can you say no?

Drinking Made Easy Viewing Party @ Blue Goat
Wednesday, March 14th – Happy Hour pricing including $5 cocktails for ladies until 7pm
This is also a weekly event where you can sit at the bar and watch a broadcast of the TV show, Drinking Made Easy, co-starring their bartender, Steve McKenna. You can do this all while you enjoy cocktails and nibbles from their menu and conversations of hilarious yuppies seated next to you.

SMCRVA Monthly Meeting @ Kitchen Thyme
Thursday, March 15th - $15 per person (SOLD OUT)
Kickstart #RVA: Using Social Tools to Make Foodie Dreams Come True
The Social Media Club of Richmond is focusing on foodie media. This month's presentation is a panel discussion featuring members of the community who have used and are using social tools to start, grow and market their culinary dreams right here in RVA”

Charity Hop Beer Dinner @ TJ’s Restaurant
Friday, March 16th - $50 per person
TJ’s is famous for their beer dining events and the menu for this I.P.A. focused pairing looks amazing. Braised Oxtail and Toasted Marble Rye Cavatelli, Hop Marinated Cornish Game Hen and Pineapple Cardamom Upside Down Cake. Yes, please.

Wine Dinner @ Olio
Friday, March 16th - $35 per person
My absolute favorite sandwich place is hosting a four course wine dinner at a great price. Courses include Butternut Squash Soup, Cured Italian Tenderloin Salad and Caramelized Balsamic Glazed Duck Breast. Vegetarian options are also available.
