This weekend in Richmond was a nonstop eat-a-thon and I
loved every minute of it.
In order to keep some semblance of a balanced lifestyle
while stuffing our faces with decadent dishes, we decided we would either walk
or bike to the day time eating events. The Greek Festival is one mile from
home, so it was a completely manageable route on foot.
And finally, after years of being overwhelmed by the crowds,
we have figured out the trick to not having a melt down in the a la carte line.
Go first thing Saturday morning. There
are still many loyal Greek Fest fans, but it is so much more manageable than if
you wait even half an hour into the day’s events.
What did we eat, you ask? Pastichio, Spanikopita, Tiropita
and Baklava.
And every bite was divine.
