The guys at Hardywood Park Brewery (2408 Olney Lane) have
really created something special. They have only been open for seven months and
have received tremendous accolades including a perfect score in BeerAdvocate
Magazine for their Gingerbread Stout.
The brewery and tasting room are located right behind Evan’s
office which makes it very convenient to get our growlers filled.
We take everyone who visits from out of town to this place
and sometimes make trips by ourselves. It is safe to say that we are super
fans.
Last week some friends were visiting from Michigan on their
way to the beach. We decided to stop in for a taste of the new brews. They were
serving their flagship beer, Singel, Hopler I.P.A. and Bourbon Cru. Singel is
my go to beer for regular drinking, but my favorite of the day was the Bourbon
Cru. You have to be careful because it is an Abbey Style Quad at 10.2 ABV. It
will really sneak up on you.
It is really exciting to see Hardywood Park having so much
success in their first year of business. Starting July 1st, you will
be able to buy a beer at the brewery as well as taste their beers. If you
haven’t been I really recommend checking it out.
