mid-week confessions
This week is one of those weeks. Nothing particularly bad has happened, but nothing exceptionally great is going on either. I feel like I need a clean slate, a redo, a start-over. So here are my confessions in hopes that I can break out of this funk and make the rest of this week exceptional.
1. I did not make reservations for Richmond Restaurant Week and am now having a pity party because everywhere I want to go is booked until 8:45pm. I am too old to eat late.
2. I am pissed that I missed The Voice to see Anthony Bourdain talk about absolutely nothing interesting at The Landmark. Read this article (not written by me) to see exactly how I feel.
3. I have been sneaking pretzel M&M’s out of my coworker’s desk when no one is around, but finally broke down and told him…to which he replied, “I know.”
4. I save my favorite workout pants for Fridays because Friday morning cycling is my favorite class. I know that what you wear to workout in has nothing to do with calories burned, but I feel like it makes me work harder when I like my outfit.
5. I told myself that I was going to try my hardest to stay dairy-free this week. On Tuesday, I ordered butternut squash and ricotta ravioli with zucchini and yellow squash ribbons in a sherry cream sauce. It was amazing.
Judge me if you must, or join me. What little secret do you want set free?

Alex and I decided yesterday afternoon that we weren't going to have wine last night. We didn't have any wine, but the fact that we had to make an official decision not to drink wine make me realize that we sound like alcoholics...
ReplyDeleteI would call you "wine enthusiasts", sounds much better :)
DeleteI am also having a pity party because I didnt make reservations for Resturant week either :(. I have been very good about not having any soda diet or otherwise for over a year and then I broke down and had one with my niece over pizza. Gosh it was good. Also, where did you order that ravoli dish it looks yummy?
DeleteTrish, I bet a Diet Coke would be like crack to me right now. I haven't had one in forever! The ravioli is from The Tobacco Company. I had to have it.
DeleteM&Ms are soooo annoying. It's impossible to just have (steal) a few!
ReplyDeleteMy confession: This morning I tried to make chocolate chip mini muffins and forgot to add sugar. REALLY? SUGAR?! I'm still upset about all those wasted ingredients in my garbage can :(
Valerie, that is a total bummer about your muffins! I feel your pain, sister, I do.
DeleteI confess as much as I wanted to vote for Boho cycles in the IE competition I had to vote for the Richmond Food Coop. Sorry I am vice chair....
ReplyDeleteTim, because I love you, you get a free pass on this one. The ladies from the Co-Op were just delightful and I sincerely look forward to the opening.
DeleteOh, you don't even want to know what I've eaten this week. I should probably eat a salad for every meal this weekend starting ASAP.
ReplyDeleteI can barely believe you would eat something unhealthy...salad and purple Doritos for me this weekend.
DeleteConfession: I was proudly not drinking alcohol for 6 days before the half marathon, and telling everyone. Yesterday. . . 3 days before race, horrible day at work followed by family dinner at Maldini's. Chianti happened. Oops!
ReplyDeleteYour secret is safe with me ;) You will still KILL IT this weekend! I know it.
