I think when
you recognize that you are craving alcoholic beverages is when you are supposed
to sign up for meetings. I don’t know that I am exactly at that point just yet,
but I am absolutely crazy for cider these days.
I mean, it
is practically juice. Actually, it IS juice, just with boozy side effects. It
has much lower alcohol content than my favorite craft beers, so I can drink
more than one and still not have to call people and apologize the next day.
Bonus!
After I
started writing this post I was looking around for cider related information
and come to find out that Cider Week of Virginia starts this Friday. How
awesome is that?! If that wasn’t cool enough, I also learned the Secco Wine Bar
is serving Cider Flights on Sunday and a bunch of Richmond retailers are
holding cider tastings.
Here is a
quick list of some of my favorite ciders:
Bold Rock
(local) is sure to be featured at all of the upcoming VA Cider Week events
Crispin Brut, a dry cider that drinks like Champagne, no wonder I like it
Angry Orchard Traditional Dry, their website says “a dryness that makes you pucker”
Woodchuck Farmhouse Select, is a small batch cider from Woodchuck, so exclusive, right?
Yes, I tried the Bold Rock and it quickly became my favorite. Cripin is my 2nd favorite. How love that this weekend is Cider Week - you have made my day!
